I'm going to try and type this quick so i don't run into any problems like last time. (ironic, that just happened). Things are really starting to look good here in Siaton! as far as the branch, they've finally started to do their home teaching! this last sunday there was a "home teaching caravan" where everyone involved met at the church (about 5 priesthood holders) and went out to go home teaching! Too bad the only person missing was our Ward Mission leader - he's awesome, but he is misunderstood sometimes so that sorta gets him down. it's happened with a lot of the past missionaries, so what we're doing to fix it is treat everyone including him as investigators - do what \thomas s monson said (and what my uncle did on his mission) and imagine all of them how they could be, and look past all their obstacles and imperfections. Too many times we focus on their problems but all that does is frustrate us and keeps us from helping them from progressing.
One really awesome thing that happened is one of our investigators, kent, is a friend of our branch president and has been coming to church for a couple weeks without us even getting a chance to teach him! and then one day when we were getting punted (going to houses but not being able to teach) we found him on the street one day just standing by, we asked him if we could teach him and he said yes and invited his friend to listen, and so we taught them then and there on the spot! his friends (nick)name is cli-cli. anyways, next time we were getting puted we saw them (nag-stand-by ra silla) and asked them if we coud teach them again (we knew they weren't doing anything) and they said yes - apparently Cli-cli knows a ton of people so he went inviting everyone within sight that he knew! the group we ended up teaching was 7 people all together, 7 referrals/newinvestigators at once!
so there's some of the highlights of our week here.
hope all's well with you and yours!
